Each practitioner can determine who is a good candidate for PREVELLE™ Silk Filler. In general, anyone (man or woman) can safely use PREVELLE™ Silk Filler to enhance their appearance and roll back the years. However, there are rare exceptions. After your PREVELLE™ Silk Filler treatment, you may have temporary injection site reactions such as swelling, pain/tenderness, and redness. Although rare, lumps/bumps may occur. These symptoms are typically mild and, in most cases, resolve within 7 days. Exposure of the treated area to excessive sun, UV lamp, and/or extreme cold weather should be minimized until any initial swelling and redness have resolved. To avoid bruising and bleeding, you should not use PREVELLE™ Silk Filler if you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting, such as aspirin and ibuprofen. If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or under the age of 18, you should not use PREVELLE™ Silk Filler.
PREVELLE™ Silk Filler was studied in 45 patients who were injected with PREVELLE™ Silk Filler on one side of the face and Captique®, another hyaluronic acid dermal filler, on the other side of the face. Local symptoms were reported in diaries for 14 days by the study patients. Most symptoms were mild and went away within 3 days. These results are shown in Table 1 below.
In the clinical study, 69% (29) of the 42 patients who responded to the questionnaire preferred treatment with PREVELLE™ Silk Filler over Captique®. Of these 29 patients, 97% (28) preferred PREVELLE™ Silk Filler because it was less painful.

PREVELLE™ Silk Filler is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that contains a small quantity of a local anesthetic (lidocaine) to provide pain relief at the injection site. When can I apply make up after the procedure?
You should ask your physician as to when make up can be applied.
How often will I require treatment?
After the initial injection an additional treatment, or touch up, may be needed 1 to 2 weeks later to achieve the desired level of correction. Over time PREVELLE™ Silk Filler will be broken down naturally by your body, which is why you may want repeat treatments. In general, repeat treatments are needed within 3 to 6 months to maintain the desired result, but the timing of additional treatment varies from person to person.
